Custom Pillow Boxes for Oregon Brands

Oregon brands lean natural and small-batch — botanical skincare, herbal products, artisan food, and a strong craft market culture. The packaging brief that comes with them is usually consistent: uncoated stock, one or two colors, illustration rather than photography, and no plastic if it can be avoided.

That is a brief we can serve honestly, and it happens to be one of the cheaper specifications we make. Uncoated kraft with a single-color botanical illustration costs less than a laminated four-color pack and reads as more considered.

Why one color often looks better here

A single dark ink on natural kraft produces a mark that looks printed rather than applied, and it suits illustration far better than photography does. It is also the cheapest branded pack available, because there is one plate rather than four.

The constraint is that pale and pastel colors do not work over brown board without an opaque white beneath them. If your palette is soft, a bleached kraft or an uncoated white is the better base.

A plastic-free pack, specifically

  • Unlaminated board, or a water-based varnish where protection is needed
  • An open die-cut aperture instead of a film window
  • Jute or cotton twine and a paper seal instead of tape
  • A blind deboss rather than foil, which is plastic-backed
  • Recycled-content board, with the grayer sheet shown on a proof first

Supplying Oregon: common questions

Will a pale color print well on kraft?

Not without an opaque white base beneath it — over brown board, pastels turn muddy. A bleached kraft or an uncoated white keeps the paper character with a printable ground.

Is a plastic-free box actually available?

Yes: no laminate, no film window, paper-based closures. It is a real specification and we will describe exactly what it can claim.

How does an unlaminated box hold up in a shop?

For a product that sells through reasonably quickly, well. On an open shelf handled for months, expect visible edge wear — a water-based varnish helps without adding plastic.

Can I say the box is recyclable?

You can describe the material accurately. Curbside acceptance is set locally, so a claim about a specific outcome should be checked against the markets you actually sell into.

Do you have an Oregon facility?

No. We supply Oregon brands and ship to Oregon addresses; we do not operate premises in the state.
