What a genuinely paper-only specification changes

No laminate
A plastic film bonded to board is the single biggest barrier to paper recycling. Uncoated or a water-based varnish keeps the pack in the paper stream.

No film window
An open die-cut aperture keeps the product visible with no plastic at all, where the contents allow it.

Recycled-content board
Available in kraft and coated grades. The sheet is grayer, which we show you on a proof before sign-off.

Paper-based closures
Jute or cotton twine and a paper seal instead of plastic tape.

Deboss instead of foil
Foil is a thin plastic-backed layer; a blind deboss adds nothing to the sheet.

Can you supply a compostable box?
Not as a claim. Uncoated paperboard breaks down under the right conditions, but "compostable" is a certified standard with specific test criteria, and unless a certified material is specified and paid for the claim is not available to you.
Is a kraft box automatically eco-friendly?
No. Kraft with a gloss laminate and a PET window is no easier to recycle than a coated one. The finishing matters more than the base stock.
How much recycled content can I have?
Boards ranging from partial to fully post-consumer recycled are available. The higher the content, the grayer and more variable the sheet, which matters most if the design has large white areas.
What do I give up with an unlaminated box?
Scuff resistance and any moisture barrier, plus slightly duller color reproduction. Those are real trade-offs and worth knowing before you commit.
Do you have a Colorado facility?
