A plastic film bonded to board is the single largest barrier to paper recycling. Uncoated or a water-based varnish keeps the pack in the paper stream.

An open die-cut aperture shows the product with no plastic at all, where the contents allow it.

Use recycled-content board
Available in kraft and coated grades; the sheet is grayer, which we show on a proof before sign-off.

Change the closure
Jute or cotton twine and a paper seal instead of plastic tape.

Deboss instead of foil
Foil is a thin plastic-backed layer. A blind deboss adds nothing to the sheet.

Can I print a compostable claim?
Not unless a certified material has been specified and paid for. "Compostable" is a certified standard with test criteria behind it, not a description of paper.
Is FSC-certified stock available?
Certified board can be sourced, but printing the mark requires chain-of-custody certification covering the route to your order. Ask at quote stage and we will answer plainly.
What do I give up going unlaminated?
Scuff resistance, any moisture barrier, and a little color saturation. Real trade-offs, worth weighing rather than glossing over.
Do you have a Bristol facility?
